Bio
I AM NOW GIGGING IN CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA.
I am still able to recommend some fantastic musicians from Melbourne, free of charge and as it should be, so don't hesitate to email me.
Dan Millane is the best.
He has played "this" many gigs in "this" long and is the best muso in... (insert current location).
If you’ve heard one self indulgent bio written in the third person, you’ve heard them all.
I mean seriously, how many “Number one Melbourne cover bands" are there?
I'm a professional musician concerned with playing popular (not cliché) music to an audience wanting to be entertained.
I don’t start late.
I don't drink alcohol at gigs or eat the guests' food.
I play long sets (an average of 30 mins more music within an industry standard 3 hr gig)
I don't hit on the patrons in my breaks.
And I don’t charge ridiculous amounts, just because it’s a wedding.
My job is to keep people at the venue spending money, or at the function, entertained all night. Simple.
This has been my main job since 2003.
Written short and simple, in the first person by me.
But in all seriousness. I entertain at pubs, clubs, cafe's, functions, birthdays, weddings, engagements, events etc etc.
I sing and play acoustic guitar, and have been Live Looping* for many years.
Since mid 2015 I started more advanced Live Looping, adding 2 new, amazing pedals to my show that have certainly been keeping me on my toes… pun intended.
Dependant on the mood required of the event will determine which of the many formats I play and equipment I use.
I have also played as a duo with a drummer and like my solo shows, this can be chilled out, background feel or kick arse, party band feel. Both larger format line ups often get remarks as to the sound being impressive for only one or two people.
*Live looping is the process of recording samples of sounds live, in real time, nothing pre-recorded and having them play back in a loop. Once the recording reaches the end, it starts again at the beginning. The technology used is called a "Phrase Sampler" or "Looper". Multiple layers can be added or taken away, providing for endless possibilities and creative opportunities.
Feel free to contact me with an idea for your function and I'd be happy to help!
Cheers
Dan
